Best all round foiling location in NZ. Flat water in the bay. High tide is best for flatwater (less of a walk out). Waves further out in the bar can be riden all the way to Mana. Waves are best 2-3 hours after high tide. The outgoing tide picks the waves up. These waves are not overly powerful and generally never get much more than head high. Safe for beginners, don’t venture out too far. Know your limits, it can really blow here. If you feel it’s too windy, don’t go out.

Watch out for other water users.
