Stanmore Bay, Whangaparaoa AKL

Wind Strength: Great in high winds 20knts + You can use Orewa live wind meter ( however due to station located on top of the roof on the surfclub it over reads so take off approx 5 knots for a more representative value.

Water depths: shallow sloping sandy beach – Walk out until deep enough for mast. There are rocks on the shoreline approximately half way down the beach to the left on the shoreline.

Tides: Ride-able at all tides – seems better at mid-tide for better rollers

Swell: Yep really nice after a week of Easterlies.

Water quality/clarity: sedimentary rocks along Whangaparaoa Peninsula so the water clarity / turbidity deteriorates fairly quickly if there’s been a decent blow of wind for a few days. Quality- Pretty good – can check water at if interested.
