Welcome to the beach of Christchurch. This is a large open beach on low tide with a short walk over the sand dunes from the carpark. Park anywhere along Marine Parade.

The typical wind is cross onshore from the right, so it can be challenging to get off the beach, on foil and out of the white water zone. Predominately wind-developed waves.

If you head north, you can shoot the New Brighton Pier, however watch out for fishing lines dangling from above.

If the wind is too light, the Estuary or Harbour may have more wind.

Check out the local crew at the beach, Thanks Tim Stockman for the footage!
